Research Interest
The southern sea otter is federally listed as threatened and
is a keystone species within the nearshore marine environment. Due to their
importance as a bioindicator of marine ecosystem health, sea otters are an
appropriate species to use to study the affects of marine pollution. For my
master's research project I will investigate the spectrum and levels of
persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in sea otters.
